Kids Back to School Clothes & Virtual Classroom Ideas
Jessie Cozzens| 14 Aug, 2020
We know a lot of your kiddos have started this school year. Us here in Utah start in just a week or two. Whether your kids are back to school learning, or you have chosen to do virtual learning, we support your decision and hope that even though this is a rocky start to a new school year, it will be a great one!
For those who are choosing virtual learning, we understand that this is completely new to most of you. It certainly is for us. So i put together a post for you to give you a couple of ideas to still make learning fun and give them an environment for learning... On a budget!
We feel it's safe to say the majority of you LOVE shopping for your littles!! I mean, of course we do too!!😆 So, we wanted to share some of our Top Sellers and our personal favorites for back to school.
How to Set Up Your Home for Virtual Learning
I decided to turn a corner of my living room into a "classroom". I took down my shelving decor, and went full teacher! All of what you see in this picture I found at Michael's. They have an awesome selection of school goods for a great deal. I found these clear plastic vases there as well and I love that it keeps the coloring items away from my younger kids but also looks cute to keep up on the shelves and accessible for the big kids. And don't forget to use the 20% off coupon they always have available on their website. And you can sign up for their rewards to receive a 30% off coupon as well.
I found things that were relevant to my daughters' ages like the maps, props, and coloring items. I love that they have their own little spot to sit, and everything is easily accessible to them in this corner. What I also like about this idea, is that when they are in our "classroom", it's exactly that; it's their school. So the school rules apply here. They don't get to do anything else besides school work and when school is in session, we are respectful of one another, we don't argue (story of our lives lately!) and we do what assignments need to be done. This is the only way I know I will survive this at home learning thing. I have to have some structure or we will all go nuts! Haha.
What I love most about this is I spent maybe $50 total on our classroom. These items we not in our budget but I wanted to make my kids excited for school so I'm really glad I was able to find great things but still keep the cost down.
Kids Back to School Clothes
Now to what we all love! Our back to school clothes and top sellers!
You guys have been going BANANAS over our Color Your Own outfits! These are the cutest and so fun for kids!! We totally think these are a must-have. In this picture you see my girls are coloring their very own Unicorn shirt.
They were ecstatic to do this! 🎨 You can use any kind of markers. But we recommend permanent or fabric pens to make the coloring last and to prevent the colors from bleeding when washed. We do recommend washing these outfits by hand and laying flat or hanging to dry. Below is the link to all our Color Your Own outfits as we have multiple to choose from. Let your kid express their inner artistic fashionista!!
Back to School Dresses
Safe to say our kids dresses are a hit for back to school. As they should be! Little Miss Tennley here is wearing our White Alphabet Dress.
This is a top seller so you'll want to snag this quick while they're in stock. Here is the link to this dress and below that we have linked our other top selling and favorite dresses!
Back to School Tops
Is your child not a dress fan? Or do they have a favorite pair of shorts or jeans they want to wear? We have tons of adorable kids tops to choose from. Jordyn here is wearing our darling Rust Pom Pom Sweater.
Does this come in my size?? It's SO CUTE and warm for the cooler months coming up! We have this sweater in multiple colors! I will link the Pom Pom Sweaters and below that is a link our top selling and personal favorite tops!
Back to School Accessories
Of course accessories are almost as important as your outfit. We have some of the cutest accessories in right now. Some school related which we think are a must-have! Along with TONS of others that you have got to check out.
Healthy School Snack
It wouldn't be an SIP blog without some sort of recipe. I don't know about you but it has been full on snack attack mode at our house. I swear my kids will eat all day long if I let them. 😳 Yikes! So I came up with this recipe so I felt a little less guilty about what my kids were eating. My girls loved them! These can be great for breakfast, snack or even thrown in their backpack for lunches. There is no refined sugar and no white flour.
Ingredients:
- Healthy Apple Almond Muffins:
- 2 C. Almond Flour
- 1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
- 1/8 tsp. Salt
- 2 tsp. Cinnamon
- 1 tsp. Vanilla
- 1 Large Apple, grated and drained
- 1 tbsp. Lemon Juice
- 3 Eggs
- 1/4 C. Honey
- 2 tbsp. Coconut Oil, melted
Method:
- Preheat oven to 325.
- Line muffin tin with liners or spray with cooking spray.
- Mix almond flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl.
- Then add remaining ingredients and mix well.
- Fill muffin tip 3/4 full.
- Bake for 20-25 mins.
I will sometimes add sliced almonds, dried cranberries, and coconut to the top of them before baking just for some added texture and sweetness, but they're great on their own as well.

First off i loved the blog post on transitioning to at home learning and the ideas of shelving and crayon containers where big kids can reach and littles can’t . That was a great idea. I also loved seeing ideas for girls who are not big on dresses but still like to be girly. My daughter is 8 and he style is ever changing. I would love to see light weight clothing options for southern weather states deal with as out warmer weather tends to follow thru into fall just a bit longer before winter shows up. I love this website and im so glaf i found it!!!
