Well, I blinked and it was already March!.... WHAT!? We just couldn't miss this blog. St. Patrick's Day is such a fun one.🍀 I remember always loving the holiday as a kid and I've passed down the festivities to my kids. I wanted to give you a few ideas to make the holiday fun for your family. Super affordable, super easy, and believe it or not, a couple of things that are super healthy! I have found it difficult to make holidays fun for kids without loading up on a ton of sugar, especially with Easter right around the corner. Now don't get me wrong, of course I have some yummy treats to show you, but I am so excited to show you what I came up with for my girls that isn't just straight candy! SCORE! I hope these can be a good inspo for you to make this holiday a fun one. Here we go!

To start off, I wanted to share with you guys healthier surprise idea I had. I roamed the aisles at Walmart and the Dollar Store, searching for all things green that wasn't straight candy. It took a while, but I think I found some good things! Some granola bars, flavored water, Sprite, pistachios, green apples, gum, etc. And for some non-food items; jump ropes, silly string, sidewalk chalk, and bubbles. All things my girls love and... all green!

I was really excited to share these so I could maybe save some of you time for being on the "green hunt" and hopefully already have some things in mind to grab.😁

Next up, my Rainbow Bark.🌈 I love this, and what's even better is you can switch up the chocolates and toppings to whatever holiday and color scheme you're wanting.

Here is what I used for it:

• Milk Chocolate Chips

• AirHead Rainbow Strips

• Mini m&m's

• Rainbow Mini Marshmallows

• Rainbow Sprinkles

I used a double boiler to melt my chocolate. Just a pot filled with a bit of simmering water (not boiling), and a glass bowl on top. You want the water about 1 inch below the bowl but not touching the bowl itself. Just be patient and stir until almost melted, then stir to completely off the heat to melt chips and not overheat the chocolate. Pour onto a sheet pan and spread to about 1/4 inch. Then top with all your fun toppings. Set in fridge until hardened then cut into chunks! Yum!!😋

Chocolate covered pretzels are easy-peasy and a family fave so I just used a bit of the remaining chocolate from the bark and dipped some pretzel rods in it, melted some white candy melts, and used the same toppings for those too. Cute and delicious.

And finally, rainbow waffles!🌈 How ADORABLE are these!? If I was a morning person, I'd make these weekly, but I'm not so these are a holiday exclusive in my house!😂 All I do is whip up some batter, separate into different bowls and add food coloring. When pouring batter into waffle maker, just add spoonfuls of the different colors, letting it spread into waffle maker. Then of course, WHIPPED CREAM CLOUDS!☁️ As I mentioned above, I can't just have no treats on a holiday. Haha It's all about balance, people.😉

Well, I hope this sparks some fun ideas to make this St. Patrick's Day a fun one!🍀 As for the decor, most of what you see on this blog I got from Walmart. Very inexpensive and I save everything and store it neatly so I can salvage what I can and use it for future years.👏

We hope you have a fun holiday and are as excited as we are to start having some warm Spring weather soon!🌷 OH! And..... Don't forget to wear green come March 17th, we don't want any of you getting pinched!🤭

💚💚💚💚
