Hey, friends!!
I am SO excited for the 4th this year! It is my most favorite holiday. All the BBQ's, fireworks, carnivals, and family time. It's just the best! So of course I got a jump start on this blog and I can't wait to show you what we have for you to help celebrate our country and have some fun with the kiddos! We have a festive dessert pizza, crafts for kids that are inexpensive, red, white, and blue punch, a kid party basket, and candy firecrackers. So FUN! Let's get started!🤩

Fun Kids Dessert Pizza
First up, this delicious dessert pizza. This is so easy and tastes so good! Plus, it looks amazing. We all know how much I love show stopper foods (but are secretly super easy! Shh.)
Here's what you'll need:
1 package of sugar cookie dough
8 oz. softened cream cheese
2 Cups heavy cream
2 teaspoons lemon zest
Strawberries, blueberries
Preheat oven to 350°. Form the cookie dough into a large ball, then roll out into a flat circle on a pizza pan or cookie sheet. It will expand, so make sure you give it room. Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are slightly golden.
While the crust is baking, whip the cream cheese on high until it's smooth. In a separate bowl (I used my mixer and just did them separately.) whip the heavy cream until it becomes stiff and peaks form. Then gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese and add in the powered sugar and lemon zest. Mix well until it's smooth and creamy. Cover and let it chill in the fridge.
Remove crust from oven and let it cool completely. Once it's cool, spread the mixture over the entire crust. Decorate the pizza with the fruit, however you want!
You'll want to serve this quickly while the topping is fluffy and cold. It can last in the fridge but I recommend serving right away for best results. 😁
So yummy and so easy!! My kids loved helping with this too!

Red, White, and Blue Punch
Next up! The red, white, and blue punch! You'll want to do this right before your get-together. The colors will eventually blend but for a good little while, it will stay separate and be so cute!
Here’s the drinks I used:
What you'll want to do for this is put the highest sugar content drink in first. In this case, it was the cranberry juice. Then you'll fill the entire pitcher up with ice. Then add the next highest sugar content drink, this one was the Gatorade. (I couldn't find the darker blue Gatorade so I actually added a couple drops of blue food coloring to the it and it made the blue perfect!) Then you'll top it off with the 7-UP. Make sure you pour slowly. Serve immediately. If you don't want a big pitcher, this is also super cute for single servings. Just use clear plastic or glass cups, and do the same thing in those! Enjoy!!
Kids 4th of July Crafts
Let's switch gears to some fun crafts! I know you all are like me and desperate to keep the kids entertained during the summer. If you're not, you're a much better parent than I am! 😂 My girls love crafts, they'd do them all day! So I have two that were perfect for us, so I hope you can use them too!
Mini American Flags
First, making their own flags. I love having Popsicle sticks on hand because I feel like you can make a craft for literally any holiday with them! Along with those, here's what else we used:
You'll want to cut one or two of the sticks and glue them vertical to the back of the horizontal sticks to hold them together.
Next, just let them decorate! My oldest loved the button idea, and my younger one decided to paint hers. There isn't a rhyme or reason, just give them ideas of what to do, then let their imaginations go with it to make their own flags. All of these things I found at Walmart.
Handprint Flag Tablecloth
This other idea I had was so messy and fun. Messy for me but fun for them so I guess that means it was a hit! Haha I love buying the cheap plastic tablecloths for parties and BBQ's. They're not as formal, plus I can just toss them when I'm done. So simple. So this idea counts as a craft/tablecloth. Seemed like a good idea to give my kids something to do, but I can also have a cute decorated tablecloth for our BBQ!
I just let them do hand prints to make a flag. This would be cute to let them draw stars or fireworks, whatever they feel like. It kept the busy for a good little while and I think it turned out cute!
4th of July Kids Activities
Lastly, especially for the 4th of July, I like to have some fun things for the kids to do. When we have these BBQ's there are usually A LOT of kids. I don't want to spend a ton on little baskets for every child so I loved putting these little baskets together.
Everything is from the dollar store! The baskets, the filler, and all the goods too! Super easy, super cute, and my kids LOVE them!
Candy Firecrackers
For this last idea, I thought they were so darn cute!!! Candy firecrackers! All you need for these are, round packaged candy, festive craft paper, stickers, tape, hot glue gun, and some ribbon!
I wrapped each candy with cute paper. Then let my kids put some star stickers on them, hot glued the candy together in a makeshift firecracker, then tied them with cute ribbon. I did have some stiffer twine string that I used for a fuse to pop out of the top, but I'm sure just ribbon would be adorable too! These are so cute and my kids could barely wait for me to get pictures of it before they ripped theirs open!
Well, I hope you all enjoyed this blog! I'm reading all your comments on these blogs to bring you more of what you'd like to see from them! So keep the ideas coming. Our SIP team all wishes you a happy 4th of July and we'd love to say THANK YOU to all the military families as well. Have fun and be safe!
